# Maintaining these docs

> Write source-backed MDX, validate links and API references, and publish through the separate documentation repository.

Documentation belongs in this separate Mintlify repository. The main website no longer has a docs editor after the migration.

## Preview locally

```bash theme={null}
npm ci
npm run dev
```

The preview uses port 3003. Brand and navigation settings are in `docs.json`, custom visuals in `style.css`, and content in MDX. The CLI is pinned in the lockfile.

## Page standard

Each page needs a unique title and description, an accurate opening summary, useful task-oriented sections, relevant examples, clear limitations, and related links. Add troubleshooting where it helps. Write enough to answer the question; do not pad content for a word count.

For API pages, distinguish supported inputs, response semantics, freshness, errors, and access requirements. For tools, explain what a result does **not** establish, such as an MX record not proving mailbox existence.

## Validation

```bash theme={null}
npm run check
npm run links
```

Review an ordinary guide, a field note, an endpoint, and the landing page at desktop and phone widths. Check long tables, code overflow, keyboard access, and reduced motion. Local search may require Mintlify authentication; do not create credentials just to enable a preview without approval.

## Preserved articles

The two original CMS articles are in `notes/`, with original source in `migration/source-articles.json`. Historical third-party service claims must remain attributed rather than becoming current promises by AVRXT.
