# A personal website, built in small pieces

> An editorial introduction to the AVRXT notebook: practical tools, documented decisions, and personal experiments.

AVRXT is avrxt’s personal website: a place for projects, useful utilities, technical notes, and a listening journal. These pages explain the work and the decisions visible in its implementation. They are not product onboarding for a commercial platform.

## Small tools with clear boundaries

A tool is easier to trust when its purpose and limits are explicit. An MX lookup cannot prove an inbox exists. A TCP connection cannot establish application security. A listening feed cannot report playback that its source never received. The [tool guides](https://docs.avrxt.dev/guides/tools.md) describe these boundaries alongside the steps needed to use each utility.

## Design that supports the task

The website uses expressive motion and a restrained visual foundation. Documentation has a different reading task: clear headings, comfortable contrast, useful navigation, and examples that fit a small screen. Motion should respect reduced-motion preferences and leave the content usable when effects are unavailable.

## Decisions worth keeping

Useful notes record the problem, the choice, the tradeoff, and how the result was checked. A migration note should preserve old URLs and data. An email guide should distinguish receipt from sending. A service recommendation should link to its current limits and describe how to leave it.

## What this notebook records

The [technical log](https://docs.avrxt.dev/notes/technical-log.md) records verified changes and work in progress. The [technical guides](https://docs.avrxt.dev/technical/free-services.md) cover reproducible tasks that other personal-site builders may find useful. Historical articles remain marked as historical rather than being rewritten into claims about today’s services.

This introduction is based on the website and its documented implementation. Personal anecdotes, testimonials, benchmarks, and claims of experience are added only when supplied or verified by avrxt.
