# Find a quote and its attribution

> Fetch and copy a short quotation, with practical guidance on attribution, verification, and provider limits.

Random quote is a small reading and writing prompt on avrxt’s personal website. It displays a quotation together with the author attribution supplied by its source.

> [card] [Open Random quote](https://www.avrxt.dev/tools/quote)
>
> Read a quotation or request another result.

## Use the tool

Wait for the first quotation to load, then read the author together with the text. Use the copy control to copy the formatted quotation. Choose another quote when you want a fresh result; random results can repeat and do not guarantee a different author or theme.

## Where the text comes from

The website server retrieves quotes from DummyJSON. The displayed attribution is provider metadata, not an independently verified citation. A quotation is a starting point for further reading rather than evidence for every factual claim contained in its wording.

## Before republishing

Verify the original source and exact wording before using a quotation in academic work, a publication, or a commercial project. The author field is not a license statement. If you cannot trace a quotation to a reliable source, avoid presenting the attribution as established fact.

## Troubleshooting

Provider availability and request limits can interrupt loading. Wait briefly before retrying. If copying is blocked, check clipboard permissions or select the text manually. Report a repeated loading problem with the approximate time and browser rather than repeatedly refreshing the endpoint.

For quotation accuracy, include a primary source when you have one so the report can be assessed in context.
