Read current activity

The response contains source, username, profileUrl, checkedAt, stale, nowPlaying, and recentTracks. Normalized tracks contain id, title, artist, album, image, url, plays, and playedAt. Missing images are empty strings. An active item may not have a completed-play timestamp. nowPlaying is null when no active track is reported or the data is stale. Do not label the last known track as live.

Read charts

The chart response adds chartPeriod, chartsUpdatedAt, chartsStale, totalScrobbles, topArtists, topTracks, topAlbums, and capsule. The top lists are labeled Last 30 days. The capsule represents the current calendar month in Asia/Kolkata, so totals can differ. Capsule completeness is explicit: bounded pagination and request deadlines may make coverage partial.

Freshness and failure

Recent activity is internally cached for 20 seconds. Charts and month summaries use 15 minutes. The outer Worker cache is bypassed. An upstream failure may return a labeled stale result or a 502; missing configuration returns 503. The older /v1/spotify/now-playing endpoint is retained for compatibility. Its path name does not imply that the current Last.fm feed needs Spotify Premium.
